In 2009, amidst the financial crisis, J. Lee, an experienced professional in the beauty industry, decided to start a brand that would develop various products and services to help salon businesses struggling through tough times. Recognizing that salon businesses, particularly those owned by immigrants and minority women, were particularly affected by the crisis, J. Lee set out to create a brand that would support and empower these business owners.
With this goal in mind, J. Lee founded THERAPISPA, a compound word for THERAPY and SPA, representing his vision for a brand that would provide physical and mental wellness to its customers. Starting in New York, J. Lee drew on his extensive experience in the beauty industry since 1999 to propose a new service menu for salons, develop the necessary products, and reduce the labor and time of the existing service menu. This would help salons to save on costs and increase efficiency, allowing them to stay afloat during the economic downturn.
As the brand grew and evolved, it focused on supporting salon businesses and providing high-quality products and services. During the 2020 pandemic, THERAPISPA introduced concepts to conserve resources and reduce energy waste, furthering its commitment to sustainability and responsible business practices. This included implementing eco-friendly procedures in its production, reducing waste, and promoting energy-efficient equipment in salons.
Over the years, THERAPISPA has become a trusted name in the industry, known for its dedication to supporting salon businesses and providing innovative and effective beauty solutions. In addition, the brand's reputation for quality and reliability has helped it establish a loyal customer base. As a result, it continues to be a leading provider of products and services to salons across the country.
